BAREGES-GAVARNIE IN BOROUGH MARKET
Thursday September 28, 2006: Representatives of the AOC came to ensure the promotion of “famous” the "doublon" in the enclosure of non-moins famous BOROUGH MARKET of London. New event, because it is the first time that a sheep of the Toy Country crosses the English Channel to be found “judged” by fine British gastronomes. London restorers as of the members of association Slow Food Great Britain were present to taste the sides of meat which were proposed to them on this occasion. The public (informed) was very agreeably surprised by gustatory qualities of the product, finely cooked by Gerard BOR, member of the culinary academy of France and large defender of the Barègeois sheep. The wines of the MADIRAN, partners of this festivity, were also particularly appreciated. This promotional event aimed to allure new outlets. Let us wish that our "doublon" will make the small ones and that the London tables will appreciate… All our thanks with Peter Derbyshire, like our other English friends. All our recognition with Gerard Bor, without whom the pleasure of the papillae would not have existed. All our thanks with our financial partners: the Council General, Slow Food France and Trade-union Commission of the Valley of Barèges. All photographs of the event in the heading “Gallery Images”. |
