THE YEARLY CYCLE
Summer- the animals move around freely in the high mountains of the Pays Toy, feeding exclusively on the highly perfumed high mountain grasses and herbs.

Autumn- the animals come down to between 1000m and 1800m altitude to feed on the mid-level pastures (granges foraines).

Winter- the animals are down to the valley bottoms betwen 600 and 1000m, feeding exclusively on the hay cut from the 'granges foraines' in the summer and pastures if not under snow.

Spring- the animals go back up to the granges foraines for a few weeks until the higher mounatins are clear of snow and the grass is growing.

A SHEEP WHICH ONE DOES NOT FIND NOWHERE ELSEWHERE.
In this high valley of Gaves, through the centuries, men have known to shape a race in order to adapt it to their territory : the BAREGEOISE.
Rustic, with a fine frame and a provided shock, it resists to the hard mountain climate and can draw part of grounds with the most difficult access.

These men and these women are above all courageous people and impassioned by their trade.
There is a specific currency to this valley :
"U TOY NO CRAGN QUE DIU, ETH PERICLE, E' RA LIT"
"A Toy fears only God, the thunder and the avalanche"
